Letter To America!

You are a part of the problem if you are not paying attention. You did not believe me. When the man who now claims the right to live in the White House and to use the Oval Office as his own told you he was going to bring about change and hope. But he didn’t explain what that meant.

You didn’t believe me when I told you that Obama’s change meant communism. Many argued with me saying that he was only a liberal, not really a communist. Some in trying to show their erudition pointed out that he was progressive. None of his supporters wanted to publicly admit that they supported an avowed Marxist as their president.

You didn’t believe me when I described his promise of hope as the despair we would all feel as our money, our property and our freedoms slid into the cesspool that is socialism. And now here we are.

When I said, he will nationalize our industries, you pooh-poohed the very thought of it. He has now taken over the automobile industry, the banking industry, portions of the insurance industry and is well on track to completely nationalizing the entire insurance industry in the name of improving the nation’s health care system.

You called me insulting names when I said he hated America and intended to destroy it so that he and his buddies could rebuild it in the image of the Soviet Union. You didn’t believe me when I said his mentor, Saul Alinsky, taught a young Obama about de-constructing society, industry and a nation. You refused to accept his very own words promising to do just that. You called me an alarmist - a reactionary - and right wing lunatic.

You didn’t believe me when I said that spending hundreds of billions of dollars would not bring the nation out of a recession if the money were spent by the government on government programs. You said that Obama was right. We could spend our way back to wealth

When I warned you that the government would borrow more money from China and other nations, you laughed. When I predicted the Federal Reserve would needlessly and carelessly print dollars which could not be backed by any hard commodity or valuable wealth, you said I didn’t understand economics.

Barack Obama has kept his promises to you. He is on the verge of bankrupting the nation.

When I complained about his plan to close the prison facility at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, you said it needed to be closed. When I said George W. Bush was wrong in not moving those Islamofascists through the military tribunals as quickly as possible, you complained that we would be denying those poor Muslims basic human rights to which every American is entitled.

You didn’t believe me when I said that Obama would surrender in Iraq and that he would pander to the Iranians putting all Americans in grave danger. You blamed the war on George W. Bush, accusing him and DickChaney of plotting, financing and masterminding the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon.

When I said that Obama would become a dictator over America, you laughed. You said it can never happen here. You even claimed that the constitution would prevent it. And when I said he hates the constitution and will not obey it. You said, "Impossible."

Barack Obama has kept his promises to you. He makes up rules as he goes along. He enters treaties with foreign nations with no intention of allowing the Senate to approve or not. He is now in process of buying an old prison in Illinois with plans to move the terrorists from Cuba to the U.S. where they will be granted full constitutional guarantees and protection. Don’t be surprised when they are also placed onto a pathway to citizenship along with twenty million Hispanics who invaded our country and stole from us.

I called him liar. You challenged me to prove it. I pointed out one of his lies. His promise for complete transparency in government. He said the health care bill would be debated on C-Span. Yet every thing he’s had done by his lackeys in Congress has been hurried, unread, done behind closed doors, acted on during night time hours and never explained to anyone before passage and his quick signature. He is a liar. But then you still don’t believe me.

He promised fairness and the end of favoritism in government. The fact is that he has been paying off his friends in the unions and community organizers with our tax money. He violated the law by giving substantial ownership of General Motors to the labor union which controls their factories. He is destroying our economy and using what money is available to pay off political debts. It appears now that he may have followed through on his deal with Hillary Clinton to pay off almost six million dollars of campaign debts she incurred in her losing campaign against him. With our money.

But you love him. You said he has such dreamy eyes. You said he is brilliant. A great orator. You called him the "gracious god" Obama. You said I was a racist because I refused to support him. By the end of this year we may have a national debt in excess of 14 trillion dollars. Trillion. With a "T". That comes out to $437,500 for each and every one of us including the illegal aliens who, of course, won’t have to pay. You and I. We’ll pick up their share.

The interest on the debt alone will crush us. We have no manufacturing capacity. That went for NAFTA. Our farming industry is being wiped out by huge corporate farming whose main task now is to feed the world, not us. The remaining wealthy entrepreneurs who chaired the offices of chief executive grab their golden parachutes and jump off shore to place their money in protected bank accounts in foreign countries. You know why that is? Because we treat foreign countries better then we do our own.

We will never be able to pay off this debt. And when the new landlord comes to call, where will your "gracious god" be then? His goal is still to be dictator of the world. He would never be happy leading a crummy, broken little country like the former United States of America..

You were a part of the problem. And you still are if you have not awakened to what we did as a nation in November of 2008. You are still a part of the problem if you are not yet awake to our need to fight to regain control of our government. It still works, but you have to be willing to move the levers, push the buttons and haul the load. And sitting by while Congress refuses to do its job and the courts pass laws which they are not supposed to do and the office of the president is nothing but a collection of financial war lords with no constitutional authority won’t get the job done

Where is your vision, America? Where is your common sense? What happened to that fire in your bellies which made us the greatest nation in history? Why have you come to think that government is the only thing that can save you? When did you forget that this was a nation of laws, with a government of the people, by the people and for the people? When did you lose your connection with the God who gave you liberty as well as life? When are you going to do something about it? Where are your guts?

Who Is TPS?

"Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten - fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.
We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the 700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government, our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about) — the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more imporant.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: change.

Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning. And I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission. And then, he was duly elected to office, a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media — did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and ... change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

(Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.)

Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years — a shorter time span than just two terms of the U.S. presidency — it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I canbelieve what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me.

Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe–and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am."

TPS November 2008

The foregoing essay was posted by a commenter, known only as TPS,
following the 2008 national elections. According to Snopes.com it has
been erroneously attributed to others. Now, almost a year after the
election and nine months after the essay first appeared as a comment
posted to Pat Dollard's blog, we still don't know who wrote this very
insightful and dire comparison with history.

Where are you TPS? More importantly, who are you? Many of us would
like to say, "Thank you."

Victory and Joy in the Faces of Black America

You know, I've noticed the last few weeks that American blacks are truly happy as I've never before seen them. I am opposed to Barrack Obama. Not because of the color of his skin. Not because of his bi-racial origin, but because I believe he is a communist and is in the process of destroying the America that many of us have loved for so long.

But his election has given American Negroes something to be very proud of - something that no one can dispute or take away from them. Even Negroes around the world, in other countries may share in the joy felt by our own American brothers and sisters who share their origins in Africa with each other.

While I despair over the damage he and his party are doing to America, I am happy for Americans who happen to be black and who are thrilled at the fact that one of them is now the president of the United States. It is a great pleasure to see the happiness in their faces and hear it in their voices. I so wish that Obama were a person who believed in the capitalist system, who supported the ideals contained in our constitution. I wish that he was not determined to change our government from one of freedom and opportunity into one of tyranny and subjugation. Then I could truly share the happiness being enjoyed by our darker skinned brethren in the fact that a black man is now president.

So to all Americans who by chance of nature are members of the race of humans who had their origins in Africa I congratulate you. Enjoy your triumph. Let no one take away your joy for mere political reasons. For we can differ in our politics as well as our skin color and still be neighbors and shareholders in what is left of our great American experiment.
